Hey, guys
Today, I decided to intentionally learn something new about about the Lord every day. This is the season that I'm in on my journey. Ultimately, it's up to the Lord whether He teaches me something new about Himself daily, but I will meditate on His word and will share what He speaks to me, whether it's something He's told me in the past or if He's sharing His heart with me in a different way.
Tonight, I listened to the Parable of the Prodigal Son
Here are the things that stood out to me:
1. The Father’s response has nothing to do with his level of love for you. He loves each of his children the same. You are not discarded, you are not forgotten. You would have received the very same treatment if you had’ve gone away and later returned.
2. The Father’s child will always be treated like His child. He will always treat His children like His children, no matter what. His children won’t be treated like a servant, a slave, a worker - none of that.
3. There is nothing felt by the Father but gratitude. At the end of the day, reconciliation is all that matters. And in the words of the song of the same name sung by Brandi and Diana Ross in the film Double Platinum, “Love is all that matters.”
4. Questions aren’t bad; you can question the Father. You can ask Him, “Why?” He’ll give you answers, & the answers will point you back to His love and to His heart. Every “Why, Father” will point you back to His heart.
5. He is a good Father who loves us, who doesn’t hold our sins against us. 2 Corinthians 4:19 He isn’t counting our sins against us.
6. I can see and hear our good Father speaking to Himself these words: “My child is safe. I no longer have to wonder if he’s safe, what he’s doing, where he is, who he is with/around. He is safe again in his Father’s house.
I have his heart, his love, his affection again. My son wants me again and he is where he belongs, clothed finer than the lilies of the field, fed better than he could have hoped to be fed ever again, hopeful, healing, restored, mine.
How I can sleep well tonight!! How I can sleep well again from now on.
But first, I’ll gaze upon his face as he sleeps.”

8. I see the prodigal proclaiming to others, “Let me tell you about my Father’s love for ME. Let me tell you what my Father has done for me."
And I can hear the Father's heart saying, “Be restored, my son.”
